KOLKATA TO GET NEW AIRPORT WITH INVESTMENT OF TWO LAKH CRORE

The Union civil aviation minister Mr Ajit Singh who met the state chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday to review the progress of modernisation of Kolkata airport said that Rs 2 lakh crore investment is expected to come to the state for setting up regional airports and helipads.


ABU AZMI SENTENCED TO TWO YEAR JAIL TERM

Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi and four others were today found guilty of giving provocative speeches to incite communal violence 12 years back and were sentenced to two years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 11000 by the Mazgaon metropolitan magistrate’s court.
Azmi was sentenced for allegedly given a provocative speech at Nagpada in south Mumbai against Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray and Congress leader Narayan Rane in year 2000.
