congress2 HUSBAND, WIFE CAMPAIGN INTENSELY FOR CONGRESS FROM JALANDHAR (W) SEATWhile the political parties contesting the Punjab assembly elections of 2012 have high stakes, the senior political leaders of various parties whose kin are in poll fray. However, their family prestige has at stake.
Jalandhar MP Mohin-der Singh Kaypee has emerged as a key strategist for his wife Suman Kaypee, the Congress candidate from Jalandhar (West) assembly segment. He accompanied her on her door-to-door campaign in the early hours and tries to win over party rebels rest of the day.

Sunman Kaypee, who showed the confidence to win the election said, “Development is the core concern of this election, previous government of Akali Dal and BJP has done nothing.”
Mohin-der Singh Kaypee who is well versed with areas said, “People want development and we are proceeding with these issues.”
Apart from campaigning for his wife, he is helping with the electioneering in the adjoining constituencies of Nakodar and Jalandhar Cantonment to “ensure victory of Congress candidates”.
It may, however, not be easy going for Suman due to the anti-incumbency factor against her MP husband, and his one-time close aide Satpal Mall turning rebel.
Mall, is part of the management of the Dera Sachkhand in Ballan, which has influence over Dalit voters. The dominance of the Megh community in the constituency is also a cause of worry.
