Following the Lathi Charge conviction on 24 Feb 2011 the BJP leader produced in court for hearing. Reportedly a trial court issued summons against Delhi BJP president Vijendra Gupta and 7 other leaders to appear in court, now the court has kept the next hearing on April 25th. Notably, last year on February 24 BJP youth wing BJYM’s Activists had staged protest to demand Shiela dixit resign after CAG report blamed her. The Police had to resort baton charges to disperse the demonstrators. Several leaders were taken in to custody.
Now the leaders are condemning police of lodging illicit charges against them as if they are criminal. BJP Leaders are planning to approach higher court to resolve the matter.
