DOCTORS’ STRIKE CLAIMS ANOTHER LIFE IN JAIPUR


The doctors’ strike entered seventh day on Tuesday resulting in the loss of one more life in the pink city.
The government also recruited 750 new doctors on Monday. At the same time, 18 doctors from among the protesters were arrested for striking work despite the Rajasthan Essential Services Maintenance Act being in force.

BOLLYWOOD MOURNS SATYADEV DUBEY’S DEMISE


Bollywood mourns the demise of legendary theatre personality, Satyadev Dubey.  Dubey passed on 25th December after cardiac arrest.
The veteran playwright and director suffered a seizure at Prithvi Theatre Cafe in suburban Juhu in September this year, and since then he was in coma. Dubey’s health was fragile for quite some time and he was in and out of hospital in the last few years.
A Padma Bhushan awardee, Dubey had become a legend in Marathi-Hindi theatre. Though born in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, he made Mumbai his home, and became a towering figure of the Marathi theatre.
In his long career, he produced/directed plays of all the prominent playwrights of post-Independence period: Girish Karnad (Yayati, Hayavadana), Badal Sarkar (Evam Indrajit, Pagla Ghoda), Chandrashekhara Kambara (Aur Tota Bola – Jokumaraswamy in original Kannada), Mohan Rakesh (Aadhe Adhure), Vijay Tendulkar (Gidhade, Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe).

MIRWAIZ EXPRESSES MIX VIEWS ON ANNA’S FAST


Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq says that Anna is fighting for genuine cause, but also regrets saying that he has different ideas for Kashmir problem.
Speaking to media Mirwaiz said that confined is not limited to a particular state and if Anna is a right Gandhian he should thing beyond political points. He further said that he is not happy for Anna’s view points about Kashmir.

Mirwaiz said this on the sidelines of Muslim cleric meeting in Srinagar today.
Notably, this is Anna’s fourth fast for a stringent anti-corruption law.
Meanwhile, parallel protests are taking place in New Delhi and several other places in the country.

TIRUPATI RESIDENTS HOPING TO CREATE NATIONAL ANTHEM RECORD


On the occasion of completion of 100 years of the national anthem, a person in Tirupati is all set to create a new Guinness record by singing National anthem Jana gana mana consecutively for 610 times.
The previous record is of 607 recitations of Canadian national anthem and now a person named Vasu, an advocate cum member of Venkateshwara Childrens high school is all set to create a new record by singing the Indian national anthem for 610 times.

Vasu has planned to sing the national anthem from the morning and will be singing it till 5pm to make the Guinness record. Many students have also vowed to join him in completing his task.

SHIV SENA ASKS ALL PARTIES TO JOIN OPEN DEBATE ON LOKPAL


Shivsena leader Sanjay Raut said, political parties should discuss the Lokpal Bill in parliament with an open mind, but reiterates nobody should consider himself to be above parliament.
“We are against the corruption and all parties should discuss the Lokpal bill with an open mind, “ Sanjay said.

“There should not be anything above Parliament,” he added
